Rhona's place in the Sun (August 1997)

Father knows breast as doc boosts Rhona's assets to 34DD

TV stunner Rhona Mitra has had her breasts enlarged in an operation performed by her DAD.

Rhona in The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous Blonde Rhona, 21, who went topless as a schoolgirl vamp in a raunchy series The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous, had her assets boosted from 34A to 34DD. Her father is top plastic surgeon Dr Anthony Mitra.

And last night a pal said: "Rhona simply decided he was the best man for the job. Some people might think it strange for a father to perform breast surgery on his own daughter. But she wanted the best and that's just what he is."

The friend went on: "The op was a total success and Rhona is thrilled with the results. Her dad was a little hesitant at first but decided he didn't want another surgeon botching things up. He wanted to make sure Rhona got the best possible results."

The surgery is thought to have been carried out at North London's Highgate Private Hospital where Dr Mitra is based.

Neither he nor Rhona would discuss the operation last night. But fans will see the results shortly when beauty launches a new career as a pop singer. Rhona, of Chelsea, West London, is releasing a single under the guise of Lara Croft, the sexy character from computer game Tomb Raider.

Rhona as Lara CroftHer pal added: "Lara is famous for her figure - she's the sexiest computer game character there is. Rhona didn't have the right body shape to bring her to life before. But she's more than perfect for the job now. She looks amazing and loves the tight-fitting costume."

In The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous- starring hunky Stephen Billington - Rhona played daring Flora, who was thrown out of her posh school after being caught in bed with a boy. The plot, based on Jilly Cooper's steamy novel, echoed the actress's own younger days when she was asked to leave two boarding schools due to her wild-child antics.

The star, whose parents split when she was nine, also admits she took drugs during her early teens. She said: "It wasn't hard to play Flora because so much of what she goes through actually happened to me. I did a hell of a lot of E's and there was a lot of cocaine too. Sometimes I think I should be dead. It was nasty and sordid."

Also, Po Chan called our attention to this picture of Rhona in a scene from The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous.
