Lara's Musical Career Takes Off (August 1997)

Miss Lara Croft can now be seen during the Irish rock band U2 concerts in the PopMart World Tour. Lara's appearance will be during the performance of "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" in the giants video screens.

Lara also makes an appearance in the Tour Book. We are hoping to see Lara in MTV too... Also, David A. Steward (of Eurythmics fame) is preparing a single featuring Lara Croft, which is scheduled for a September release.

This all seem to be the beginning of a musical career for Lara.

Lara single almost out (August 1997)

After much speculation, it seems that the Lara single is finally going to be released. Performed by Rhona Mitra and produced by Dave Stewart, the indiepop flavoured CD is entitled Beautiful Day and its expected release date will be September 22th.

It was expected in March but, according to Core's Jeremy Smith, it has "something we tried and it didn't work so we went back to the drawing board and started again. We now have a "big" name working on it which has changed the structure of what we were going to do." The "big" name is rumored to be David A. Steward (of Eurythmics fame) but, again according to Jeremy, "if the single turns out crap there is no way we would release it as the damage it could do to our property far outweighs any commercial return we may receive." Let's hope this time is for real.

What is certain, is the appearance of Lara in the big screens behind the Irish pop band U2, during their PopMart world tour. She can be seen during the performance of "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me". She also makes an appearance in the tour book.
